The implementation of ISMP 15 is to stop the movement of invasive wood borne pests and fungus between countries. Pests and fungus often move with wood packaging, such as pallets and crates. The ISMP 15 standard requires all species of wood packaging to be heat treated or fumigated to kill insects and or fungus prior to export.
Non compliance of this regulation is a serious problem and will result with the consignment to be returned or destroyed adding further costs to the consignee.
